STM: SPM Controller
Dosers:
1. Connect water.
2. Connect filament and doser power supplies (Delta and FUG).
3. Check that minus output of doser power supply is grounded.
4. Check that shutter is closed.
5. Turn on doser power supply.
6. Apply required high voltage.
7. Make sure filament current is 0 A.
8. Turn on filament power supply.
9. Increase filament current until required emission.
10. Leave some time warming (5-15 min, depending on doser).
11. Heat sample during warming time *
12. Open shutter for a given time. Record emission current (and HV voltage), background pressure, filament current and voltage, sample temperature.
Transfer rod with marked positions
1- Sample transfer.

Mount sample in transfer rod

Push transfer rod until first position (roughing pump stage). Wait 5 minutes. Pirani reading is not too reliable

Push transfer rod until second position (turbo pump stage). Leave there between 30min and 2hours (more if it is a powder sample). The gauge is broken

Push transfer rod to last position (inside XPS chamber). Wait until pressure drops below 10-7 Torr. Set gauge in 10-7 Torr range before turning on XPS (there is a pressure interlock)

Check that teflon piece at the end of rod is not protruding out.
Difusora. La llave hacia el criostato está justo encima.
1- Para desmontar una muestra:

Apagar el alto voltaje del detector

Desmontar el detector de rayos gamma y su preamplificador

Darle la vuelta al transductor con la fuente radioactiva, de forma que apunte a la pared.

Apantallar la fuente con Pb
-
Apagar la controladora del criostato (y el controlador de temperatura en su caso)

Cerrar la llave de He
-
Cerrar la llave que conecta la difusora con el criostato (IMPORTANTE, no abrir nunca al aire la difusora hasta que esté fría)

Desenchufar la difusora

Apagar la electrónica del medidor de vacío (Penning)

Romper el vacío del criostato por una de las uniones KF. Dejar al aire dicha unión.

Quitar la camisa exterior del criostato (haciendo palanca, está bastante ajustado por medio de varios vitones)

Quitar la camisa interior del criostato (va roscada)

Desatornillar el portamuestras
